چکیده
Background Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare disease, with the rate of overall survival (OS) influenced by many factors. The present study aimed to define independent predictors and establish nomogram for individual risk prediction in PMP patients. Methods One hundred forty-seven patients were consecutively included between June 1, 2013, November 22, 2019. log-rank test was used compare OS groups; subsequently, variables p < .10 subjected multivariate Cox modeling defining indicators. Finally, established based on prognosticators assessed internal validation. Results Multivariate analysis showed that D-dimer level, carbohydrate antigen (CA) 125 CA 19-9 degree radical surgery, histological grade all independently associated A plotted underwent discrimination ability revealed good predictive as indicated C-index value (0.825), calibration plots confirmed consistency predicted observed probabilities. Conclusions Five prognostic factors predicting identified, these indicators reasonable prediction.

Pseudomyxoma peritonei syndrome of appendiceal origin: an overview.
Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) syndrome is an uncommon, slowly progressive condition that usually arises from perforation of an adenoma in the appendix. PMP syndrome is characterized by mucin accumulation in the peritoneal cavity. Mucinous implants are found on all peritoneal surfaces and the omentum. PMP syndrome rarely metastasizes outside the abdominal cavity but remains a fatal illness as the...

One in 1000 cancers occur during pregnancy. Epithelial tumors of the appendix occur in approximately 1% of all colorectal tumors, and the occurrence of this neoplasm during pregnancy is extremely rare. We report an unusual case of pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) in a 41-year-old full-term pregnant woman. Cesarean section was carried out, and the abdomen was found to contain an appendiceal mucinous...

Introduction. Increasing numbers of patients with pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) of appendiceal origin are being evaluated with a low tumor burden. We explored a minimally invasive approach for this group of patients. Materials and Methods. We designed a protocol in which patients with a PMP diagnosis would have a diagnostic laparoscopy. If limited carcinomatosis (PCI ≤ 10) is identified, the pro...
